Tree Pruning + Trimming — FAQ

Most mature trees benefit from pruning every 3-5 years. Young trees should be structurally pruned every 2-3 years to develop strong branching. Fruit trees and ornamentals may need annual attention.
Late winter (February-March) is ideal for most deciduous trees — they are dormant and the branch structure is visible. However, deadwood can be removed any time of year. Avoid pruning oaks and elms during warm months due to disease risk.
Proper pruning by ISA-certified arborists promotes tree health. Improper pruning — like topping — causes serious damage. We follow ANSI A300 pruning standards and never remove more than 25% of the canopy in a single session.
Pruning typically ranges from $300 to $1,500 per tree depending on size, species, and scope of work. We provide free on-site assessments with detailed quotes.
